Audit before you design
Find out what customers actually recognise: a colour, a shape, a phrase, a founder's face. Some of it will be accidental. All of it is equity you paid for, and discarding it silently resets recognition to zero.
Decide what changes and say why
A rebrand needs a written rationale that a salesperson can repeat in one sentence. If the only reason is 'it felt dated', expect internal resistance and inconsistent adoption.
Plan the migration
Signage, packaging, templates, email signatures, app icons, invoices, uniforms, partner portals. The design is a fortnight of work; the rollout is a quarter. Budget for it or the old brand will live on in the places customers actually see.
