Indexing and coverage
Check how many pages Google actually has indexed against how many you published. Large gaps point at technical problems: blocked resources, canonical mistakes, thin pages or a staging directive that shipped.
Intent alignment
Take your ten money keywords and look at what currently ranks. If the results are all comparison pages and you published a brochure page, no amount of link building fixes it.
Internal linking
Find your most linked page and count how many clicks it takes to reach your commercial pages from it. Three or more is usually the reason those pages sit on page two.
Speed, titles and duplicates
Run one speed test on mobile, scan for duplicate or missing titles, and check whether location pages differ by more than a city name. Those four checks catch most of what agencies charge for in month one.
