Core Web Vitals: the five fixes that move the needle first

Serve images properly

Modern formats, explicit width and height, lazy loading below the fold, and a correctly sized hero image. On most marketing sites this single pass fixes the largest contentful paint problem outright.

Cut the third-party load

Audit every tag in the tag manager. Chat widgets, heatmaps, A/B tools and abandoned pixels routinely add a second of blocking script for no current business value. Remove, defer, or load on interaction.

Reserve space for everything that moves

Layout shift comes from images without dimensions, injected banners, web fonts swapping and ads. Reserve the box before the content arrives and the score stabilises.

Fonts and JavaScript last

Subset your fonts and use font-display: swap. Then look at bundle size. If the first three fixes are done, most sites are already passing without touching the framework.
