What marketing reporting should look like when a board is reading it
Sessions and impressions do not survive a board meeting. Four numbers usually do.

The four numbers
Pipeline created, pipeline influenced, cost per qualified lead, and payback period. Everything else is diagnostic detail that belongs in the appendix, useful for the team and distracting for the board.
Show the trend, not the month
A single month of marketing data is mostly noise. Rolling three-month views make the direction visible and stop the conversation restarting every thirty days.
Explain what you changed
Every report should name the two or three decisions taken since the last one and what happened as a result. That converts a status update into a record of learning, which is what earns the next budget.
